Salam Maal Hijrah …
Yesterday was the last day of the Islamic Calendar 1433, 29th Dzulhijjah.
There is a doa that is read three times to represent the end of the year, Doa Akhir Tahun. It is read after solat Asar before solat Maghrib. Insya’allah, one will receive Allah SWT protection from the defamation and snares of the Satan and receive forgiveness of sins for the year that has passed.
Today is the first day of Muharram 1434 a.k.a. Maal Hijrah.
Another doa is read i.e. Doa Awal Tahun (also read three times), after Maghrib on the last day of Zulhijjah or on the night of 1st Muharram. It is said that two angels will protect throughout the year.
Doa Awal Muharram is read three times a day for the first 10 days of Muharram. It is said one will be protected from Satan throughout the year.
I’ve fasted yesterday and will be fasting today and tomorrow (first Friday of Muharram).

Hi there …
I think it’s been about 2 weeks since I last wrote. I wonder how you have been doing.
We had company from KL the first week, then we all fell sick after that. It took us a complete week to recover. The kids got the seasonal virus that’s been going around and I got food-poisoned!
Anyway, on with my post for today …
I was watching Bella on NTV7 this morning and they had a segment on pregnant women and health. One O&G professor from UM said the rule of thumb for women to gain weight when pregnant is between 11 and 16 kg and if the woman is obese, it would be around 7kg.
Only 11 to 16 kilos?? Gee … I was overweight!!! During my last pregnancy with the twins, my last recorded weight was 89.5! At the start, I was about 62kilos. I gained about 27.5kilos! Well, yeah, I’m better when I eat. Unlike to some, they can’t eat as they can’t keep the food down. For me, it’s the other way round. Hahaha …
My oh my … Dr. Siti never stopped me from gaining more weight. She said I’m doing okay 🙂 You know, come to think of it, she’s one part of the pregnancy that always make me happy … Thanks, Dr. Siti!
Yes, I’ve stopped working and have become a stay-at-home mom to my 2 toddlers and 2 babies.
It’s a big adjustment for me and it was very crazy the first week. I’ve got the hang of things now, but there are still those difficult days …
I’m currently looking for someone who can come by the house every day to help do the cleaning and laundry. Then I could focus on the boys and babies better; give them better tender loving care.
It’s June 20th, 2010 …
Happy Father’s Day to all Dads in this world!
To my beloved Dad … I miss you every day, though you’ve been far from us, you’re still the best dad I could have.
To my beloved Hubby, you’re the best dad for the boys …
I’ve fallen sick on Friday and still have not recovered today 😦
The stress at work and coming home to two babies (who wake me up several times during the night) and two toddlers (who are constantly trying to get your attention) are really taking its toll. Hubby has been “knocked out” quite frequent with his high blood pressure (diagnosed three months ago). It’s really a good thing that we have a helper at home to help with the domestic chores and take care of the toddlers when I’m at work. My mother-in-law takes care of the babies on weekdays.
I was sick a few weeks ago and I had to stop breastfeeding the babies for a week because of the medications that I was taking. Now I’m sick again and I asked the doctor to only prescribe mild medications as I do not want to stop breastfeeding the babies again.
I do not know if I can carry on working at this rate. I just don’t know 😦 All I know is to keep this family, we need two incomes and that’s that.
Today, I received a big surprise from my loving hubby. A brand new phone, Nokia N900! When I received it, I was wondering what’s this bag for. Little did I know, it was a gift. It took some time to sink in. When it did, I was going, “Oh my god! Oh my god! I can’t believe this!” Hahaha …
Frankly speaking, I have never owned a phone that cost more than RM1000. Every time I visit the handphone shop, I would contemplate as to whether I should spend that much money for a handphone. I’m unlike many friends and colleagues who would splurge on a “cool” handphone. To me, it’s sufficient to be able to make calls, send smses and take pictures.
Imagine, my colleague had to help me open the back cover so I can insert the battery and SIM card. Hahaha … Then, I didn’t know I had to import contacts first before I can make calls. Well, it’s certainly a cool gadget and something I need to learn how to use.
This is my first day back to my special corner on the net 🙂 I’ve been keeping tabs on what to write when I’m back. There are lots to tell …
It’s coming to 2 months since I delivered my twin boys. I’m now getting ready for work phase. I’ve asked for leave extension and it looks like I have to return to work earlier than I planned. Though I need to be at home longer, my team needs me too. My heart is heavy to leave my babies at home so soon. But I can’t ignore my team’s calling for help. What am I to do? This is a predicament 😦
